In CleanCloud, we use dashboards on the Explore module as a way to display the cost and usage data we collect from the cloud provider.

Our dashboards can be created up to 9 formats to suit your needs.

Wanna try? Follow the steps below to create dashboards!

You can create a dashboard from a customizable template.

1.Click on the + icon on the left hand side of the Explore module.

2.Choose which template you want to use and click the use this template button, the copy symbol you can see below.

3.Click edit widget to make any adjustments in order to suit your needs, like changing the format or including / deleting other data.

You can also create a dashboard from scratch! Follow the next steps:

1.Click the + icon on the left hand side of the Explore screen to add a new dashboard.

2.Click start from scratch.

3.In this example, we are going to create an EC2 cost dashboard grouped by instance type in a column format. Click on the chart button to start.

4.Put a name to the dashboard on the title. In our example we used Cost of service.

a) in period, put the time frame of the collected data. In this example we used 3 months,

b) in period granularity define how granular you want the data, in this case, monthly,

c) finally in the period order define whether to display the data crescent/ascending or decrescent/descending, we used on the example below ascending,

d) the result limit shows how many results will be displayed, we put no limits.

After completing these steps, click on Continue.

5.On the next screen, we set the widget data. First of all put the name of the collected data, in our example we used Cost as the name:

a) in style choose from one of the 9 available chart options, in our example Column,

b) in the data option we choose the type of data to be collected. In our example we selected cost without credit which means total cloud spend minus credits and discounts;

c) the analyze defines whether the data collected will be from the period or a percentage from the period until that date, we choose total, to collect the data from the complete selected period,

d) in groups choose how to group the collected data according to the cloud provider options. In our example by instance type,

e) finally, in filters the result can be filtered by a type of data, in operator one can determine how to consult the data, and in value the specific service. On our example we used fitter by service, operator equal to and value AmazonEC2.

After all these steps, click Create.

6.All set! The new dashboard was created!

CONGRATULATIONS!

You can now more easily view the cost and usage data and find ways to optimize your cloud.
